I remember HOTEL BRUCE. Looming over an abandoned
lot, looking menacing and proud at the same time. Around the corner stood a pair of buildings—
when one of them was torn down, a mural was revealed on the heretofor
hidden wall. It was a full-color ad for a carriage company that must have
dated to the grand days of Euclid Avenue. I always meant to photograph it.
Someone painted over it. Glad to see the Bruce memorialized in your slick
looking site.

I seem to recall that there was a long, narrow, two
story "Hotel Bruce" located near the Central Market around
20-25 years ago, that had a reputation as a rent-a-room-by-the-hour
place. It had a flat sign, hand-painted...it was an ultra
fleabag hotel.
